The Story

Built by someone who lived the problem.

myBrandDNA didn't come from a business plan. It came from a question I couldn't stop asking myself.

In February, I interviewed for a senior quality engineering role. It went well — really well. I thought I had it. I was already thinking about what came next.

Then the call came. I was edged out. The hiring manager went with someone else.

I was frustrated. Not because I didn't deserve the role — I knew I did. But because I couldn't figure out why it didn't land. So I called the recruiter and had an honest conversation. I asked him the question I'd been avoiding:

"What's the difference between me and the people actually getting hired?"

His answer stopped me. "The people getting hired know who they are — and their resume shows it."

He wasn't talking about credentials or experience. He was talking about identity. Clarity. The ability to communicate not just what you've done, but who you are and how you think.

I had 15 years of building quality systems, eliminating friction, leading teams, and delivering results in high-stakes environments. But my resume read like a list of job responsibilities. It couldn't show the person behind them.

The second chance

A few weeks later, I was browsing that same company's job board when I saw a different role — Senior Business Applications Analyst. I read the description and something clicked. The responsibilities mapped more directly to what I actually do than the quality engineering role had.

I applied. I reached back out to the recruiter. He passed my resume to the hiring manager — who couldn't see my background as a business analyst.

But the recruiter went to bat for me. He gave me a chance to revise my resume and resubmit. I did. The hiring manager looked again.

I have an interview.

That one moment — the revision, the second look, the conversation that changed how my story was told — that's what most people never get. Most people submit and never hear back. No second look. No recruiter who believes in them enough to push.

myBrandDNA is that second look. Automated. Available to everyone.

The build

I'm a systems thinker. When I identify a problem, my instinct isn't to complain about it — it's to build a solution. So that's what I did.

I started asking: what if someone could answer questions about how they actually think, lead, work, and show up — and get back a profile that captures who they are, not just what they've done? What if that profile could become a LinkedIn presence, a resume, a voice? What if it ran automatically?

I built myBrandDNA in two weeks. From coffee shops. On a road trip. While going through the exact job search the product is designed to solve.

"I have the clarity to know what questions to ask
and the skill to build the thing that processes the answers."

— Scott Folmar, Founder of myBrandDNA

That's what myBrandDNA does. It asks the right questions — 17 of them — about how you think, what drives you, how you show up, and what makes you different. Then it builds your brand from your answers. In your voice. Automatically.

No generic templates. No buzzwords. No one-size-fits-all advice. Just you, clearly articulated, ready to be seen.
